The thesis book Winter Solstice focuses on the position of contemporary photography and the relationships between artists, audiences, and images, as well as the importance of distance and solitude. The book chooses not to emphasize the imagery practice of the artist, instead using the textual content as a way of expressing the artist's practice.
It’s about the artist maintaining distance from everything else, including their work, and, as a human, reaching a space separate from the rest of the world to better understand themselves. The artist hopes these ideas can be seen in her photographs, and the book design aims to illuminate this intention.
